Creative Research Lounge

Have you ever had a project whose realization you have put off indefinitely? Something that deeply motivates you and yet everything conspires to make you forget or postpone it? And there is no environment around you to support it ever really happening?

The Creative Research Lounge is a space to support unborn projects--ones that may seem crazy to most people, indeed even to you. We will simply dare to listen to each other speak about them--share without judgement, without valuation. On the basis of such listening, perhaps we experiment with ways in which they may develop. Perhaps not. We are in no rush to produce effects, but to support "the energetics of invention" in the broadest sense, and without stress. In fact, it is also possible to come with no project. Maybe just a passage from a book that you are reading or a piece of music you like or a movement sequence, an experience or incident you would like to share. At the limit, it is possible--perhaps even preferable--to come with nothing, as if you had an empty or beginners' mind.

The Creative Research Lounge is a new monthly event. We want to allow things to happen for which our current culture and everyday lives give very little place. We want to validate each other in our creative potential--outside any box, even those of "art" or "eros".

Women's Only Play Party

This month Schwelle Sydney invites you to a women's only play party hosted by yummy Natalia and her assistant Sarah. This is a safe, sensual party for girls only where you can xplore your most kinky fantasies and desires.

The Bordello

Whether we are sex workers or not, we all have an interest to reflect on the role prostitution plays in our culture and our lives. Prostitution most often refers to the exchange of sex for money. However, it can be argued that prostitution is a structure that pervades our entire culture and may touch aspects of our lives that have nothing to do with sex.

Following the success of the Xplore12 workshop, Schwelle Sydney proposes a deeper exploration of sex work and prostitution through discussion and role-play. After a sharing in which sex workers will also take part, we will set up a bordello. Participants can chose to be either clients or service providers. The bordello will have a madam and clients will use monopoly money. Sexual orientation and gender are fluid. It is recommended that you bring an outfit to suit your preferred role(s), (although costumes will be provided if necessary).

Besides being an opportunity for some hot and sexy play, this workshop seeks to give people an experience on which to reflect on our fantasies and presuppositions about sex work and prostitution, and to appreciate the complexities in terms of gender differences, class, the exchange economy and empowerment.

June Full Moon Play Party
